Ren. Fest!
Finally going to the Rennessaince Festival, and I say finally because after six weeks tomorrow is the last day. At least we made it…
Should be fun. I hope that booth is there that has all the wooden mugs in it. That was one of the things that really got me hooked on woodworking. Of course I haven’t had the time or money to do any woodworking lately myself, but it should still be nice to see the mugs. They use so many different kinds of wood, it is really neat to see them.
You know what bugs me? Jen and Erin both call in Ren. Fair. It’s Ren. Fest!!! Or, to be technical, it is the Great Plains Rennaisance Festival. I don’t know why that bothers me so much….
Speaking of weird, you know I’m much more comfortable (as in, less embarrassed) of my mycophobia now that I know the technical name for it?
Oh and here’s a funny story. One of Erin’s hamsters has been getting out lately. I found him in the closet a day or two ago, but after we put him back in the cage, he got out again. So anyway, Erin was having a dream about sea turtles last night (we just saw Finding Nemo last week, I guess that’s where the sea turtles came from) and she dreamed that one of the turtles was crawling up her arm. Well she woke up with her hamster skittering down her arm — and she caught him! I doubt I would have reflexes that good after just waking up…. So she puts him back in the cage — but he got out again, right away (he’s definately figured out the trick!) and she didn’t catch him fast enough. We’ll have to do something about that cage…but we have to find him first. Anyway, the turtle this was so funny!
Oh, but having mentioned woodworking…I’m afraid that my favorite lumberyard (where I can buy $0.25 pieces of scrap maple and cherry) has burned down! I don’t know for sure that it was it, but there was a big fire in the same industrial area. I didn’t get close enough to see which building…but I really am afraid that was it….. Whaaa!
