Everybody has seen the Lord of the Rings: Return of the King trailer, right?
Wow…. Remind me, I need to go ahead and buy tickets for the three-movie marathon. There’s a theater here in Kansas City (Olathe, actually, I think) that is running the special! Cool!

Yeah, Kyle and I talked about hitting that at the new AMC theatre downtown, but 1) it’s already sold out; 2) many of us have day jobs and can’t afford to take the entire day off work to watch movies; and 3) I don’t want to spend 14 hours at the River East 21 movie theatre on a Tuesday. I’m sure when all three extended editions are out on DVD, we’ll have a marathon watching, but in that case, we’ll be in the comfort of our own homes where we can curl up on the couch and pause and have intermission and make real food to eat while watching and even fall asleep and not feel like we’ve wasted 20+ bucks.
But we do plan on going to see each of the extended editions at the theatre on their own. I’m just getting old, man. I can’t bear the idea of the butt-numbing that will be that marathon day presentation.

Yeah, I found out that it was all sold out a little while after posting this. Jeesh. Oh well, Jen thought up a nifty idea, to have a special day and do our own marathon — watching the first two on DVD then going to the theater for the third — and do hobbit-themed meals that day. As in, first breakfast, second breakfast, elevensies, etc. Sounds like mmm, mmm, fun.
