Bush’s Money
I just don’t get it. This article says Bush has raised $84 Million for his re-election campaign — nearly $50 Million from this quarter alone. He’s now halfway to his goal of $150-$170 Million for the campaign.
How!?
Bush is the financial genius that turned a $5.6 Trillion surplus into a $4 Trillion deficit, so how did turn around and pull in $84 Million for a campaign?
More importantly, why hasn’t he worked this hard to reduce the annual deficit?
Current estimates for the annual deficit this year range between $400 and $800 billion. That is an enormous contribution to the national debt — currently $6,826,815,678,717.32. Yep, 6.8 trillion dollars. For the last year, the national debt has increased an average of $1.58 billion every day.
In contrast to the Clinton administration — which was actually generating budget surplus and paying off the national debt.
