Just Peachy
Well Business is going rather well! I still haven’t started the upcoming major project, but it’s been set into motion already. The people commissioning the project are using another graphic artist for the logo/icon development, and the plan was to hand it off to me as soon as possible after that is complete — and the graphic artist has already be given the go-ahead.*at least that is my understanding
Two of the other three main projects I’m working on are on hold while I wait for the client to give me more materials, and the other one is going very smoothly. It was going to be a very tedious, repetive project, taking me days and days to go through 83 files and rewrite the code in each one. So instead, I spent some of yesterday writing an application that will do it for me, automatically. After a few more tweaks today it will be ready, and I’ll be able to load all 83 files and chug through them very quickly.
And another project, that’s been on hold for a very long time now, is finally getting back on track with an email this morning. Just in time for when the other projects are petering out! (not including the major one)
But you know, as I write this, I realize how funny it is. A few years ago, when I was doing contract work in Chicago, having multiple projects was a very rare thing. I remember I had three projects going on at the same time once, and I thought I was going to die. Now I’ve got that on a day-to-day basis, and sometimes several more, and I guess I just handle it better!
