Even idiot freaks are litigious!
Have you seen Bowling for Columbine? Wonderful film. In it, documentarian Michael Moore interview James Nichols, the brother of Terry Nichols, a conspirator behind the Oklahoma City bombing.
If you’ve seen the film, you know the part I’m talking about. Michael Moore starts asking questions about gun ownership, and James Nichols gleefully brags about keeping a loaded gun under his pillow. When he thinks Michael Moore doesn’t believe him, he brings Moore and the cameraman along to his bedroom. He asked the cameraman to stay outside of the room, but you see subtitles clarifying what is being said. Nichols does, indeed, have a gun under his pillow. He then starts playing with the gun. Not like a person would play with a gun, but how a person would play with a toy. He taunts Moore by holding the gun up to his own head, and joking about pulling the trigger. I wish I could remember the exact dialog.
Well, now Nichols is trying to sue Moore.
His lawyer is asking for a jury trial and damages ranging from $10 million to $20 million on each of nine counts….
That’s right. Not a typo. Read that last line again. Nichols is trying to sue Moore for between $90 and $180 million!!!!!
And I thought he was crazy before!
