pant pant scrape scrape pant pant
Oy! I can’t barely control my fingers, they feel all…wobbly. I’ve been scraping the Taurus for about an hour. Finally got it all cleaned off! Then I come in and hear there is a snow advisory tonight….
There was about a half inch of ice on both the cars. I scraped the Infiniti earlier today, before going out shopping. The Taurus, well I’m just now scraping that because otherwise I’ll be getting up especially early tomorrow to do it. My fingers are wobbly and my ears are ringing. But it’s scraped.
The Infiniti earlier today was a piece of cake (more or less). It was warm enough that there was actually a layer of water beneath the ice, so the ice was a tight sheet, but not adhering to the car. It came off in these big beautiful chunks, and was actually a lot of fun. The Taurus was different. I had let it sit today because I was hoping that the sun would do much of my work for me. Well, it did on one side. That side was pretty easy, a lot like the Infiniti. But the ‘dark’ side was a PAIN. Very difficult ice to scrape clean….
On the VERY GOOD NEWS I also found out the LOTR:ROTK won big awards at the Golden Globes! It won Best Drama Picture, Best Drama Directory, Best Original Score, and Best Original Song. Whoohoo! I might be wrong about this, but I believe that was everything it was nominated for!
GO PETER JACKSON!

Did you see the Oscar nominations today? Not only did ROTK get the expected best picture nod, but Johnny Depp actually managed to get nomintaed as Best Actor for Pirates of the Caribbean. Personall, I have so say that I’m rooting for Bill Murray. Lost in Translation was so good. I have a big soft spot for it.

I did see that! I was very excited for LOTR of course, but really happy that Johnny Depp was nominated. VERY WORTHY. But I have heard that Lost In Translation was beyond wonderful. I haven’t seen it myself, but not because I didn’t want to.

Yeah, Lost In Translation is wonderful. Bill Murray and Scarlett Johanssen are amazing. Remember the character Bill Murray played in Rushmore? It’s kind of like that except less caricatured. It makes me think of the scene when he’s in the elevator and he says how he’s “just a bit lonely these days”. And Sofia Coppola manages to make Tokyo, one of the loudest and most crowded cities, seem like the loneliest place on earth. At the same time, it’s really beautiful, too. If you and Jen get a chance, you should really go see it.
