Not only did ROTK get the expected best picture nod, but Johnny Depp actually managed to get nomintaed as Best Actor for Pirates of the Caribbean. Personall, I have so say that I'm rooting for Bill Murray. Lost in Translation was so good. I have a big soft spot for it. Did you see the Oscar nominations today? Bill Murray and Scarlett Johanssen are amazing. Remember the character Bill Murray played in Rushmore? It's kind of like that except less caricatured. It makes me think of the scene when he's in the elevator and he says how he's "just a bit lonely these days". And Sofia Coppola manages to make Tokyo, one of the loudest and most crowded cities, seem like the loneliest place on earth. At the same time, it's really beautiful, too.
