Pretty good weekend
It’s been pretty good so far. Had a fairly lazy morning, went out for some great burgers for lunch, went to a bargain bookstore that had CDs, Videos, and software, in addition to the books (kind of like a smaller version of McKay’s in Chattanooga). I got a couple of cheap pieces of software and a couple of CDs. Then we came home and sat around talking about the baby and tooling around on the computer.
Then I set about to re-install Visual Studio C++ .NET, which I hadn’t reinstalled since my computer upgrade. But now I’m doing some work for Big Faithful that requires a utility I wrote for it several months ago (before the upgrade), and I had only compiled a debug version. And since I hadn’t reinstalled, it didn’t have any of the debug versions of the DLLs that my debug version needed.
And that is the longest installation I have ever seen. To start with, it’s 6 CDs, but it takes much longer than just copying the data. It’s literally a two-hour process, if you sit there and load the next disc as soon as it asks for it.
