everything happening so quickly!
Whew. Day after tomorrow, and we find out about the house…..
Today we got a call from our agent asking if we could go up on the price a bit. Apparently the bank has three offers in right now, and has asked all three to “send in their best offer,” which basically means “Ok, we wanted a little more than any of these, let’s see some bigger numbers here people!” So we went up $3k — this house is sooo worth it! Now, even considering the two allowances we were asking, we’re bidding about $700 over asking price. Not bad. But I’m feeling good about it. Earlier, they had told us we had the best offer of the three — so unless it was really close and the others raise their offer by more than a single notch, we should still be the best. Whoo! It will be so nice to finally know…. I really, really, really want that house!
Jen’s doing good today — she’s been doing museum work either at the computer or lying on the couch. I’m jealous! I wish I could do everything while lying on the couch. Hmmm. I wish I had a couch big enough that it would be perfectly comfortable to do that in. The furniture we’ve got is already very large — Jen can take off the back cushions and it’s like a twin bed for her. For me, it’s still slightly short and slightly thin. But oh well. I have a terrific office chair, so there!
Mmmm….I’m cooking steaks tonight! I got some really tasty looking ribeyes that have been marinating for the last couple of hours. And I’m going to grill corn on the cob. Mmmm….getting hungry….must fix dinner!
