one ready and eager baby!

Well, we had to go back to the midwife clinic again today! Wow, this baby is ready! Jen was having more surges, and they were stronger than they were before, even though she’s on the medicine that should be slowing them down. But fortunately she’s no more dialated than she was. But we stopped by the Labor/Delivery wing of the hospital for more observation anyway. Jen also got some stronger medicine to stop her contractions, and this seemed to work. Phew! The nurse said, either this is pre-term labor and this will stop it, or this is real labor and we’ll have a baby.

It was kind of exciting. When we left this time, we did the whole exercise. We brought our bag (that’s been packed for the last six weeks), cameras, etc. So it turned out to be a good drill. I even remembered my shoes, instead of leaving in my slippers (as I’ve been known to do). But fortunately Jen’s back home and the baby will wait a little while longer. Not that I wouldn’t be thrilled to see it already, but we can wait if it means fewer problems in delivery!

Fortunately, one of the problems we won’t appear to be having is the need for induced labor….
