Red it is
Well, I think I’m going to end up with a red office. That would be a good vibrant, stimulating color, and it would be a good meeting-point between my modern desk and decor and the traditional fireplace. It will also give me a good point to work from to go toward Japanese inspired decor, which I’ve always wanted in my office. I also believe that for the few times when I do have clients in my office, having bold red walls will give them the impression that I make strong decisions.
And I’ve also been reading about the tradition of different colors. You know, those websites that tell you “purple is a soothing color that’s good for bedrooms; yellow is a bright color that is good for rooms with north windows; green is the color of nature” blah blah blah, etc. etc. etc. Well, I’ve read a couple of really good versions of these pages lately. Very interesting, actually. But they all agree: red is the color of power. Which is great, because that’s the theme of my business (our slogan is “powerful web development for serious businesses”). Also, one of the pages that talked about red mentioned specifically that red was the perfect wall color for wood-panelled offices. Cool!
Work is going well too, although I’m being kind of slow on one of my projects. Sigh.
