Lawn-whooped
Today we had the first non-rainy afternoon in a while, so naturally it was lawn mowing time — one of those joyous ‘priveledges’ that gets folded up with your standard home ownership package. I’ve never done much lawn mowing, but I wouldn’t say I’m bad at it. But sometimes you just look bad.
I was maybe 3/4 of the way through my lawn (front and back) when up pulls a truck full of professional mowers. The ones that have those massive mowers you stand on the back of and ride like a scooter. Just a really big, noisy scooter that has the power to alter the very landscape.
Quickly.
This group of mowers — three people I believe — were here to mow two lawns. The lawn across from ours, and the lawn next to ours. Keep in mind that I was 3/4 of the way through my whole lawn, which translated to being a little over halfway finished with the front. These mowers were finished and driving off before I had gotten halfway finished with the part I had left. Yep. Do the math. That means they did two whole lawns in the time I did 1/8th of my yard. Jeeze.
