more improvements
Well, my back is still on the mend, but definately getting better. I still get too stiff if I sit still for too long, but I’m feeling good enough that I went over to the apartment today to pick up another big load, and then mowed the lawn (which really, really needed it!). Then I grilled hamburgers and hotdogs for everybody. It was a nice night!
I’m also happy because I’m finally getting somewhere with the insurance for the accident I was in. I’ve been calling and calling the courthouse, hoping that she had finally sent in her insurance information. No such luck! She let her “10 days to submit proof of insurance” pass, apparently she’s waiting to bring it with her on her court date. Now at the time I was starting to get extremely worried that she didn’t have any insurance. I was so reluctant to call her because I was sure I would just find out she didn’t have insurance, and then I would have to tell Jen the bad news and she’d get so anxious about it.
But anyway, the clerk I spoke with at the courthouse told me that my next step would be to hire an attorney and take her to small claims court. Not what I wanted to do! So I called Geico, our insurance provider, and told them the whole thing. Here’s where it gets good: Geico actually launched an investigation to find her insurance. And if it had turned out that she was uninsured, they would still pay for the repairs (minus the $500 deductible), and then send a collection agency after her to get their money back plus $500 to refund my deductable!
But it turns out she did have insurance after all. Geico called to tell me, and then went ahead and connected me to their line! Very good service! I got the claim filed with her insurance provider, and I’ll get an inspection done on the car on Thursday. Whew. I’ll be so glad to get that fixed. I hate driving around with damage to my car.
Seeing as to how much other stuff I got done today, work went very slowly. I’m desperately trying to get things done this week before I leave to go on vacation. I’ll be cutting it really close on many things! Yikes! I have soooo many projects going on right now. I am getting very overwhelmed.
