Finally out of the apartment!
We finally turned in our keys, packed up the last bits and pieces, cleaned the last spots, and spackled the last nail-hole. We’re outta there! Boy, that feels good! We loved the apartment while we were there, but wow now that we’ve been living in the house there is just no comparison, and we were just sick and tired of seeing the apartment when we had to keep going back for more junk.
I’m still not getting a whole lot done work-wise. There are three steps to every design project for me. (it’s a little different for coding) There’s the ‘block’ stage, which tends to be the longest, where I just have to figure out what the hell I’m trying to do, that would also look fairly good. It’s a lot harder than it sounds. This is where I am with this project. The next stage is the exciting one, the ‘flow’ stage, where suddenly the brain figures out where to pour the drain-o and my thoughts finally get unclogged. Once I get to this stage, things usually happens pretty quickly. Once the theme is decided on, the actual components are fairly simple. The third stage can be a little boring — it’s the grunt work, or the ‘drip’ stage. The overall design is already there, I just need to tweak the little components bit by bit and get it just right.
I really, really hope I can get to the drip stage tonight. Otherwise, I am just WAAAYYYY behind. I need to pull out the coffee machine. It’s going to be a late night.
