and CRASH!
Tonight Erin made the yummiest chocolate and peanut butter gooey cake, it was wonderful! But unfortunately it — and the glass pan it was cooked in — was left sitting out on the stove.*Kids, never, never leave things on the stove! It is not part of the counter! It is not storage! Then comes my mom, not used to the odd, diamond-patterned burners on our stove. She turns on the wrong burner to fix a pot of water for tea, and then (thankfully) waits on the other side of the room for the water to boil.
CRASSSHHHH!!!
Jen and I come running upstairs — mom didn’t have a scratch on her, but was really depressed over ruining Erin’s dessert. Which was still on the stove. On fire. The glass pan was in a zillion shards everywhere. I can’t believe that pan had that much glass in it!
On another note, I hung tennis balls in the garage today. Two on each side — yellow for pulling in (yellow as in headlights), and red (with a red marker) for backing in (red as in taillights). We’ll see how well it will work for the ladies of the house, since it was calibrated with me and my ~210 lbs. But it will be better than the current situation. Apparently I’m the only one in the house with depth perception.
