the bleeding obvious

I have no idea why I haven’t recognized this already myself. This is the kind of thing that really pisses me off, and I can’t believe I missed it and therefore lost out on weeks and weeks of griping!

Have you heard about the ’schedule’ for this election’s presidential ‘debates’. And all the rules? (An amusing one is that neither candidate is allowed to stand on a riser in order to appear taller. Guess who that rule is pissing off. I’ll give you a hint: he’s five inches shorter than Kerry.) Here’s the realization (after it was pointed out to me): for all practical purposes, the so-called ‘debate’ is really nothing more than a glorified news conference. They’re only allowed to answer the question they were posed, and they’re only given one shot to ‘answer’ the opponent. It’s almost scripted.

Well, now there’s a non-for-profit group that is trying to do something about it. Your mission, should you choose to accept it: tell everybody about this! I’m guessing that the majority of people are as sheep-like as I was, and are just accepting the situation we’re in. Well, that’s stupid. I want to see Kerry kick Bush’s butt in a real debate, not a press conference.
