vacation is good; prediction, not so much

Still enjoying a mighty fine vacation here. We’re watching a bunch of political-themed movies tonight, gearing up for the disaster that will be tomorrow. What’s that, you want my prediction? Hm. Okay, well, no guarantees and no money bet on this, but….

I think Bush will win the popular vote, but a half percentage or so. But because much of Bush’s ‘red’ states are so overwhemingly for him, and the swing states are so closely tied, his popular vote will not win a corresponding percentage of the electorial votes, and he will lose the electorial vote. I’m guessing that Kerry will get somewhere between 274 and 286 electorial votes. Still pretty close. Two or possibly three states will be in contention, and Bush’s team will start slinging lawsuits and/or allegations very quickly. In response, and in defense, Kerry’s team will also start slinging lawsuit and/or allegations. Neither one will get anywhere, or if nothing else they will end up cancelling each other out. Kerry will be determined president-elect in the weeks before Christmas. The Bush administration will embrace their hypocriscy and call foul, that Bush should have been reelected since he won the popular vote. When asked why it’s different for him than how it was for Al Gore, they’ll pull some bullshit reason out of Karl Rove’s ass. He’ll end up losing some fans because of this, which will just make it easier for Kerry to enter into office.

And there will be eight years of happiness and good times, blah blah blah. I really hope that Edwards will run after Kerry’s eight (because of course I hope he’ll get relected, although it won’t be easy because he might go against McCain). And then after that, Obama. And maybe after that, if they end up passing legislation that allows people not born as US citizens to run for president (ahem, Arnold….), then Jennifer Granholm could be president. That would be so nice.
