stupid, stupid people
Apparently people have forgotten about things like meteor showers. The Lyrids were visible last night across much of New England, and what did people do? Go out with their kids and a pair of binoculars to watch the show? Well I’m sure there were some rational people that did that.
There were also quite a lot of people who called 911, reporting unusual moving lights in the sky. There were also multiple people that reported witnessing an aircraft going down — so much that the FAA was involved.
You know, thousands of years ago, people didn’t understand meteor showers. They thought it was a dire omen from the gods. I’m not sure if we’ve seen any improvement.
