LuxFX / They Think They’re Newsworthy

Wow, what a ride! I just got back from seeing the new Batman, and I loved it. I’ve heard that Christian Bale has signed on for three Batman’s, and I’m overjoyed! For those of you that didn’t know (like me) this movie marks a complete refresh of other four Batman movies, which, although they started strongly, quickly went to Crap and beyond. But don’t worry! They’re not taking any cues from the other movies.

I did notice a couple of reminders of the original Batman movie in the flashbacks to the Wayne’s murder — the same shots were used and I’m fairly certain even the same sound effects were used. That’s cool. But I’m so happy that everything is going to be done over again — it even looks like the villain in the next movie is the Joker! It also looks like they might be sticking to the plan of sticking the bad guys in Arkham or whatever instead of killing them — something that always bothered me about the other four movies.

But anyway, this movie was awesome. I do have a soft spot for origin stories, and this is a particularly good one. I loved this movie! I did kind of miss a Danny Elfman soundtrack, though. (although the Hanz Zimmer / James Newton Howard was also very good)
