Friday links: Click the color

Ok, so technically it’s Tuesday. I meant to post this before vacation and missed it.

  • Coaster lamp I think that the dictionary should add a new definition to the word ‘coaster.’ coaster - v. - to ruin, as in to “coaster a blank cd.” Fortunately coastering a disc doesn’t render it completely useless. This guy made an attractive interesting lamp from his collection of coastered discs. There was a 7-year-old that won a science fair competition by constructing a solar oven with AOL cdroms and cooking pizza in it, but I can’t find the link right now…
  • Obsessive Ebayer This is what happens when you cross an obsessive ‘collector’ personality type, and ebay. Scary.
  • Credit Card Signature Fun Do not try this at home! Or do. Whatever, it’s your credit card. This guy sure tried it. Again and again and again. He would sign his bills with shapes, drawings, profanity, you name it. Guess what happened when he walked into Circuit City and tried to buy $15,000 worth of TVs while signing “NOT AUTHORIZED”?
  • Click the color, not the word The instructions are thin, but it’s a challenging game, so here you go: yes, the buttons are all gray, it’s the word that pops up that is the color you should watch out for. So if there is the word “blue” and it’s colored yellow, click the “yellow” button. I got a 90 before I missed a click and hit the wrong button. How far can you get?
