I haven't seen that (or heard of it) but I would have about the same reaction as you. I'm feeling pretty good about my eco footprint, comparatively at least. We're going with a minivan instead of an SUV, for one. Mostly though, we have more recycling and less trash than anyone else on our street, and we are really proud of that. :) We actually had to get a bigger recycling container than the one the recycling people gave us to use, and I still have to break everything down and squash it all in order to get it all to fit. And we only have one trashcan, even though there are 3.5 of us living here. Most of our street is senior retired couples, and they all have two or more cans!

I got a very similar result on my Eco Footprint Quiz taking. Have you watched the new show 30 Days on FX? This week they had two city dwellers (and major consumers) go to live on an eco-friendly commune for 30 days. (Before they left, they took the quiz and scored about 12 planets each.) I thought that I could do better, but these people made me want to scream. They bitched about everything. They threw little fits about not having flush toilets. I was sort of like, have you people never been camping? At least there was a toilet SEAT. It's much easier to pee sitting on on a seat and throw sawdust down after you than crouch down making sure that all your clothes and feet are clear, and then drip dry. Meh. And the guy just couldn't deal with vegan eating so he began shooting rabbits with a pellet gun. I still feel bad about my consumerism, but at least, I'm not so bad that I couldn't adapt if I had to.
