- Johnny Magic Rolling Stone has a captivating article about the rise of a geek hero, Jon Finkle. Nothing to do with computers, but cards. Not poker, but Magic. I’ve never even seen a Magic: The Gathering card, but I enjoyed the story nonetheless.
- Frvade! A challenging online riddle — or really, a series of puzzles. Very addictive. No one has solved it yet!
- Giant Squid A live giant squid has finally been caught on camera!
- Bad Journalism Two amusing journalistic error hit on the same day. Reuters confused P2P (peer-to-peer software) with the PSP (Playstation Portable) in their article graphics selection. And then the Inquirer somehow edited an article about Mozilla open source software to sound like a pizza — using the phrases “Open Sauce” and “Mozzarella Foundation!” (I’ve linked screenshots in case they make the effort to correct these)
