basketball game
I had fun with my dad going to a basketball game tonight! Not that I’m very much of a sports person, but it was just a lot of fun going to a game with my dad — or two, as the case may be (doubleheader). The first game was Texas vs. West Virginia (yay, rinabeana, Texas won!), and the second was Iowa vs Kentucky. My dad is a huge Kentucky fan, and unfortunately they lost — in the last 10 seconds or so! My dad was dissappointed, but they were still two very good games.
The only bad part was this flock of high school basketball fanboys sitting behind us. I started to get worried that their extreme stupidity was contagious. Just thinking about it, it feels like nails on a chalkboard…. There was one funny part though. One guy in particular was a West Virginia fan, and he really liked one player in particular (at least, I think that “ball-a-holic” is supposed to be a compliment….) He would just go on and on about this one player: “He’s The Great Gatsby! Gatsby is so awesome, he’s great! He’s The Great Gatsby! Pass it to The Great Gatsby! Gatsby is a ballaholic! Get it, Gatsby is so great, he’s The Great Gatsby!?” and on and on and on. Then, after a particularly clear announcement about that particular player — one in which this idiot was not shouting at the same time — and realization hit. “Wait, his name is Gansey? I thought it was Gatsby.”

Texas, Texas, YEE-HAW!
By the way, I’m still snickering over the would-be Gatsby… I’m sorry you had to be surrounded by so much idiocy.
